OTHER PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY:

2023:  Expanded Ceramics Student Conference Opportunity Program at Pasadena City College with a Community Excellence Grant 

           Awarded a Community Excellence Grant to continue and expand the Ceramics Student Conference Opportunity Program at                         Pasadena City College to fund student travel to the NCECA conference.

2022:  Created “Open Forms: Conversations in Contemporary Clay” at Pasadena City College

           Awarded Community Excellence Grants in 2022 and 2023 to launch and then to continue the lecture series, “Open Forms:                             Conversations in Contemporary Clay” at Pasadena City College. “Open Forms” features visiting artist lectures by artists working                   with ceramic processes. In addition to giving an artist talk, “Open Forms” artists provide demonstrations for and lead workshops                     with PCC ceramics students. Artists featured in the inaugural year of the program, 2023, were Jennifer Ling Datchuk, Virgil Ortiz,                   and Ashwini Bhat in conversation with Jenni Sorkin.

2019:  Created Ceramics Student Conference Opportunity Program at Pasadena City College  

           Created the Ceramics Student Conference Opportunity Program at Pasadena City College, which secured student services funds                 for selected students to attend the NCECA and CCACA ceramics conferences in 2022 and 2023.
